How exciting to see the sun shining and everyone emerging from the winter hibernation. Our appointment book is filling up as our clients begin the transformation from hiding under jackets and boots to showing off their legs, toes and skin. August was an extremely busy month of training for us. We completed an Ultraceuticals product knowledge course and also learnt new facial treatment techniques to share with you all. We prioritise remaining at the cutting edge of our industry at Ultimate Care and love having the opportunity to develop our skills.
Gabby, Mackenzie and I travelled to Sydney at the end of August to attend the International Beauty Expo in Sydney. This is the premier event for our industry and we completed several workshops and seminars. I was able to check out the latest innovations in skin care treatments such as light therapy. This is going to be the next big thing for all skin concerns over the next decade and I will be researching it fully before making the decision to add it to our list of treatments. Gabby and Mackenzie attended a Master Class with Australia’s leading Make- up Artist Rae Morris which they loved. I have attended several of her classes myself and agree she is an amazing talent and teacher.
September sees us farewell beautiful Ashlee as she leaves to prepare for the birth of “Baby Barlett” in November. Ash has been a joy to have on our team, her knowledge and enthusiasm has been an inspiration to all of us at Ultimate Care. Ash came to me asking for work placement while attending Tafe and it didn’t take me long to realise I’d invested my time very well in her. I know many of you will miss Ash, but please be confident that Gabby and Mackenzie have now finished their training and are performing well above all expectations. If you haven’t had a treatment with them in the last few months, I suggest you give them a go; you will be surprised with their knowledge and professionalism. Ash will also return to us next year on a casual basis, so she won’t be away for long.
I would also like to take this opportunity to welcome back to the team Krisany Hawes. A lot of you will remember Krisnay, who has worked with us on and off in the past, between babies. She will be working every Friday to start with and the occasional extra day if we need her.

Lesson No 5 Hyaluronic Acid (HA)
This is one of the most important ingredients in skincare today and has made a huge difference to the quality of products we can offer to our clients.
- As we age, our ability to produce this compound weakens until, by the age of 50, we are producing less than half of the HA that we did in our diaper days.
